Intercultural
As well as being artistically enriching, intercultural collaboration can be a powerful vehicle for bringing people together across social, cultural, and geographical divides.
Since 2019, Making Tracks has incubated new collaborations between 32 musicians from 21 countries. We believe that all music is created equal, and that working in intercultural ways can help to reveal this equality and show that diversity is something to learn from and treasure. We employ listening, play, and a non-hierarchical approach, supporting musicians to work together across cultures and traditions in pursuit of new musical possibilities. The aim is to find new and meaningful musical overlaps, while respecting individual traditions and practice.
